To help keep us all safe, the Government has announced that from Thursday 19 November you must wear a face covering whilst on-board public transport in Auckland. This change means that even under Alert Level 1 it is now mandatory for everyone over the age of 12 to wear a face covering while on public transport.
For many in the South Auckland Community who rely heavily on public transport, it is not affordable to purchases masks or the material to create their own. We are asking our generous donors to make or donate masks to help our vulnerable families have an extra layer of protection.
If you are unable to sew but would like to support our families in need, monetary donations are also greatly appreciated. A $20 donation will provide our whaanau with 10 reusable masks. You can also purchase disposable or reusable masks and get them delivered to our office.
Our South Auckland community have been faced with unimaginable challenges before Covid-19, during the first and second wave and are now experiencing further trouble providing basic supplies and essential items during this third wave.
