MASKS FOR THE COMMUNITY

Auckland is currently at Alert Level 2, the risk of COVID-19 being present in the wider community is higher, therefore the Ministry of Health has made it compulsory for masks to be worn on public transport and when people cannot maintain physical distancing of more than two metres, face masks are highly recommended.

For many in the South Auckland Community, it is not affordable to purchases masks or the material to create their own. We are asking our generous donors to make or donate masks to help our vulnerable families.

If you are unable to sew but would like to support our families in need, monetary donations are also greatly appreciated. A $20 donation will provide our whaanau with 10 reusable masks. You can also purchase disposable or reusable masks and get them delivered to our office.

Our South Auckland community have been faced with unimaginable challenges before Covid-19, during the first wave and are now experiencing further trouble providing basic supplies and essential items during this second wave.

(We are happy to accept masks created using different patterns/guidelines as long as they are two or three layers and pass the blow test - indicating the individual would be unable to blow out a candle whilst wearing the mask)
