An eye-opening trip out with The Cause Collective

Amy McWhannell, Marketing and Fundraising Coordinator at the Middlemore Foundation, shares her experience on her eye-opening trip out with The Cause Collective.

"I was lucky enough to go to The Cause Collective, an organisation based in Manukau. The Cause Collective is a Pacific social change agency that works with many families in need and focuses on improving the social problems that the South Auckland community face and helping them thrive.

During the visit we delivered baby clothing packs to the Teen Pregnancy Unit, a family in Manurewa and the Te Mahia Community Village in Papakura. I was pleased to be able to meet the many different organisations that Middlemore Foundation has supported through donations.

Everyone I met was extremely thankful for the support we had given them over the years and it was a great opportunity to meet our community face to face, forming a relationship with them.

I found it very useful going out to the community, meeting the people who benefit from our donations and talking to them about how these resources have supported them over the years. I was able to find out what they liked receiving from us, so we could continue to donate specific items to them in years to come.

Lesley Maipi, Systems Innovator at The Cause Collective, has been extremely helpful with distributing donations to different whānau in need. This collaborative effort between Middlemore Foundation and The Cause Collective has helped us get our donations out fast to those who need it most, making the process simple and effective."
