We are very grateful to have been awarded a grant for $5752.75 from the Ministry of Social Development towards the purchase of hygiene items such as nappies, sanitary products, soap and toothbrushes for vulnerable families in South Auckland.
These essential items will add significant value to the health and wellbeing of our community, particularly since COVID-19.
In 2018, 7397 babies were born in CM Health facilities. These increasing figures show the rate at which our community is growing, causing the need for essential items like nappies and blankets to grow rapidly.
Thank you to Papakura Marae, Manurewa Marae, Kootuitui ki Papakura, Huakina Development Trust for distributing these items to our whānau. These items will support better health outcomes for our community and reduce illnesses, and also reduce stress on our hospitals and medical professionals. It will also provide comfort, wellness and equip whānau with essential products to help fight any virus that may arise.
We cannot wait to see the positive impact these products have on our community and all the families that this will benefit. We cannot thank the Ministry of Social Development enough.
