Good in the Hood giving Kidz First Healing Garden a magical refresh

Moe (Moefilifilia) Aoelua is a Mental Health and Addiction Services Nurse Lead for our Pacific Team. Her role is caring for others but she wasn’t prepared for the moment when it was her own daughter, Shalom needing hospital care.

“We spent weeks here in Kidz First at the hospital and could see the Healing Garden from the window. With COVID-19 there was visiting restrictions and the garden was the only place we could all get together and share a meal. That was really important for the other siblings to be able to see her and share some time together,“ says Moe.

Kidz First is now part of the Good in the Hood programme. You can vote for them at Z Stations on Te Irirangi Drive, Harris Road and Lakewood Court Z Stations! Help give the Kidz First Healing Garden a magical refresh.

What will the funding do?

Kidz First Healing Garden is well loved and used by whaanau visiting their sick children. It’s a place for families to sit peacefully and relax in the fresh air. It is however, in desperate need of an upgrade. Many of the plants have died, the exterior paint is flaking and seating and play equipment is damaged. Your support of Kidz First will give our Garden the magical refresh that visiting whaanau and their sick children deserve!
