This winter, thousands of tamariki in our community are at risk — simply because they’re cold.

Jammies for June is back – and your donation provides warm jammies and winter essentials to children in our community who need it most.

Kidz First Hospital is already stretched to capacity, with up to four children in ICU every day, battling preventable respiratory illnesses like RSV, asthma, and rheumatic fever - conditions made worse by cold, damp homes.

That's why Dame Valerie Adams is once again leading the Jammie Army, rallying New Zealanders to keep our tamariki toasty warm this winter. She’s issued the challenge: Let’s get 20,000 pairs of jammies to 20,000 kids.

To launch this year’s campaign, Dame Valerie delivered 563 cosy pairs of jammies to Maangere East Primary School, her old primary. But thousands more children need our help.

Like baby Jayson, who at just 14 months old had already been admitted to Kidz First multiple times. Diagnosed with bronchiectasis at only 7 months, he struggles to breathe during the cold months. “It’s a battle,” says his mum, Sonya. “I don’t want to keep coming here.

Join Dame Valerie's Jammie Army!

This winter, you can help keep our tamariki warm by donating or fundraising as part of Dame Valerie’s Jammie Army. Here’s how:

  • Donate: Put a virtual pair of jammies on our line and help warm up winter for our littlest patients.

  • Fundraise: Form a Squad with your workmates, schoolmates or mate mates. Host a pyjama party, wear jammies to work, or turn your office into a giant bedroom. Check out our tips and tricks to get started.

Your support will provide warm pyjamas and winter essentials to children at Kidz First Hospital, Kidz First Community, and in South Auckland primary schools the Foundation supports through the Mana Kidz school health programme.
