Transforming Outdoor Spaces at Manukau Health Park

Thanks to the generous support of Dragon Community Trust, Manukau Health Park has transformed an underutilised outdoor area into a welcoming retreat where patients can relax, take a break, or wait for transport in comfort.

This exciting three-stage project included the installation of a weatherproof pergola, wheelchair-accessible decking, and beautifully landscaped green spaces. These enhancements not only provide a calm atmosphere but also deliver proven benefits such as reducing stress, fostering social interaction, and stimulating mental well-being. Studies have shown that access to green spaces can improve clinical outcomes by reducing the need for pain medication, shortening hospital stays, and promoting faster recovery.

Serving a population of over 600,000 in Counties Manukau, Manukau Health Park and SuperClinic accommodate nearly 65% of outpatient appointments in the region. This new space is a significant step forward in enhancing the patient experience, and we are deeply grateful to Dragon Community Trust for making it possible.
